Hi there

I am evaluating some dlna softwares. Important for me is, that i can set different passwords to different folders. Eg. Folder 1 -> PW abcd, Folder 2 -> PW efgh.

Is that possible with kooraroo?

Many thanks for answering :)

Hi Faethor,

Unfortunately DLNA protocol doesn't allow to password-protect the media, that's why I don't see any way of protecting your folders (it's not Kooraroo limitation, but any DLNA server). The only possible access control method is per-device. I.e. you can restrict some devices from playing selected media. See this link for details:

Hi AR15

Thanks for your answer. But the Wild Media Server allows me to protect folders with a Password. Unfortunately only the same pw for all folders :(
Is WMS not a DNLA server?

Interesting, I didn't know that. Maybe DLNA specs were updated. I'll check and see if it can be implemented in Kooraroo. Thank you for letting me know.

No problem :)

WMS is also available as trial software, maybe You can take a look. If you can implement different password for different folders, that would be great and you have a customer more
