Hello all,

I do get a message on my XBOX 360 telling that NO VIDEO FILES where found for MKV files! :( Does anyone has this issue?

I wouldn't mind buying the FULL version but can't make it working properly with my XBOX 360

More likely, it works on my SAMSUNG TV.

Thanx. Regards

Hello quebecman,

Could you please send to me the file information for those MKVs? To do that right-click the file and select "File Information...". Copy the text and send it to me - either here on the forum, or by email to support at kooraroo.com. Thank you

Hello quebecman,

Thank you for the information. XBOX 360 doesn't natively support MKV, however Kooraroo is supposed to transcode them on the fly. Can you see the transcoding when you play one of those files? If not, you might want to try pre-transcoding. To do that, right-click on a file you want to play, select Transcode, then select your device (e.g. Xbox) and click OK. You'll see transcoding start in the Status pane. After a few minutes please try to play that file again.

Hello AR15,

Hmmmmm... Well, unfortunately, it's not to complain but there are other DLNA server out there that does it without transcoding. I personally prefer Koooraro for it's easiness, but as per example, PLEX works without any issues at all.

BTW --> I am unable to read any AVI's and or MKV on my SAMSUNG S3 :(

Thanx. Regards.

Hello cubeman,

If you are sure that Plex doesn't transcode MKV and yet XBOX 360 is playing it, then we can disable the transcoding of MKV for XBOX 360 and Kooraroo will serve it without transcoding (just like Plex). Would you like to try that? Thanks.

-AR

PS the only reason Kooraroo transcodes is that XBOX 360 specs say it doesn't support MKV directly

Hello Ar15,

Sorry, I was wrong. Actually Plex does transcode on the fly but why can't I at least see the video on my xbox360? Unfortunately, the transcode option is only available in the full version :(

More likely, when you have few tousands of movies, it will take days to transcode mkv's.

Thanx for the try and help.
