Dennis

I just recently purchased KRR, been using Serviio before i found KRR and so far i really like it. But i am having one issue with it and im not sure if its a setting ive not set or option not picked or just the way KRR works. When ever i play movie from my computer while its playing it stutters through the whole movie and the quality is lower of what i was getting with Serviio. Would appreciate any help with what might be going on.

I'm glad you like KRR - thank you!

There are a few possibilities here, so can you please tell me either here or through the support (at) kooraroo (dot) com the following details:

1) the make and model of your device
2) check the Devices pane if KRR has auto-detected it or not (is it using the "Default" device profile?)
3) please right-click on one such file in KRR and send/post the output of the File Information command

Most likely it's either a wrong profile being used (not auto-detected correctly) or the file is fully transcoded when it can be simply remuxed (which I'll know from the file information).

2) Its selected Sony BDP in the device pane

Thank you for the information, yes, that's what I needed.

Please go to Devices pane, double-click on your Sony BDP there and change the device profile to "Sony BDP (DivX, MKV)". After that click OK to apply and try playing that file again (if on the BDP you are currently in the folder with that file, please go out of it and back in again, so that the file information is re-read from the server).

Please let me know how that goes.

No change the video still stutters and video quality is lower.

Ok, can you please double-click on that file in KRR to bring up the properties, then go to Transcoding tab and delete any entries that are there. After that try again. Please let me know if that works. Basically, the file should be passed through natively using the profile I've asked you to try.

Perhaps try restart the server using the stop/start button on the toolbar to be sure that the change is applied.

I deleted the entries i found reset the server and tried it again. The stuttering was gone but quality was still low, the rewind and fast foward feature was gone and it wouldnt play my .mp4 files.

As far as I know, Sony BDPs do not play MP4 files over DLNA, so they need to be transcoded or remuxed (when possible). We can try a few things to see if we can improve the device profile for your BDP. I think it would be best to proceed through the support e-mail, as I'll be able to send you an updated device profile to try. So, please e-mail support (at) kooraroo (dot) com and we'll proceed there.
